UMnet Administration

Scheduled Router Maintenance

All non-emergency maintenance of the UMnet backbone infrastructure is scheduled daily (7 days/week) between the hours of 05:00 a.m. and 08:00 a.m. Notification of scheduled maintenance is posted on the ITCS Service Status page. Whenever possible, notification of scheduled maintenance activities will be posted 48 hours in advance.

If you would like to be placed on the UMnet Inform mailgroup, please forward your request to umnet.admin@umich.edu.

Additionally, there are periods in the year where we freeze further project development that may require router downtime. Dates for upcoming moratorium are listed on the ITCS Production Freezes web page.

There are times when we experience unexpected problems that require emergency maintenance. During these emergency maintenance times, early warning will be distributed where possible, as well as updates during-and-after the maintenance. Again, information will be posted on the ITCS Service Status web page.
