The telemanagement system for ITCom products and services will be upgraded between June 20 and July 1. University administrative staff and residential students will notice some differences in the ordering and billing processes during and after this upgrade.
Administrative Staff:
The ITCom June 20 billing statement will be run and sent as usual. The July 20 billing statement, the first one using the new system, will have a new format for order numbers.
Orders that are due between June 13 and July 1 will not receive the automatic CRON e-mail message indicating the order number and due date. A manual e-mail message will be sent with a temporary order number and due date throughout the transition.
Order history in the Online Service Center (OSC) will not be updated during the transition.
Permanent order numbers will be issued and OSC history updates will be made beginning the week after July 1.
Students in Residence Halls and Northwood Community Apartments:
The telephone billing statement sent on July 1 will cover charges for services between June 1 and June 19 only. The statement sent on August 1 will cover charges between June 20 and July 31.
New students who move in during the migration will not receive an automatic authorization code (authcode) for long distance calls. Housing will instruct these students to contact ITCom Customer Service at 763-2000 for their authcodes.
If you have questions about the upgrade and migration, please contact the ITCom Customer Service Billing Group at itcom.bill@umich.edu or 763-2000option 3.
Expect Additional Processing Time for ITCom Service Orders
Over the next few months, many departments will be completing major renovations that require extensive telephone and data service order activity. This increased service order volume may cause a delay in the normal expected turnaround times. In order to have your orders completed in a timely fashion, please allow an additional 10 to 14 business days for processing.
