    A/V Internet Streaming

ITCom can put your live events onto the Internet by streaming (or webcasting) the audio or audio/video content. ITCom can also take your recorded media, encode it, and make it available on the Internet 24/7.

    Satellite Downlinking

ITCom can downlink satellite programs and make them available on UMTV (University of Michigan Television cable service).

    UMTV

You can make arrangements with ITCom to receive the University of Michigan Television (UMTV) cable service at your location. You can also purchase and program your own broadcasting channel on UMTV.

    Video Conferencing

ITCom has a fully equipped video conferencing room for conducting point-to-point or multiple-point conferences. The multipoint conference unit (MCU) can also be reserved for use at your conference site.

    New Campus Television Service

ITCom will be upgrading the campus television network, to include the residence halls, starting June 4, 2007. This is NOT to be confused with the current IPTV investigation trial. The campus hybrid fiber/coaxial television networks are being upgraded to provide a combination of educational, entertainment, and locally produced content. The residence halls will have a 91 channel lineup and the rest of campus will have a 53 channel lineup.

The new system should be substantially complete by July 15, 2007. During the month of June and the first part of July, campus will experience several outages as we upgrade the systems. Please be patient and accept our apologies for any inconveniences this may cause.

The cost for television service will increase to $16.50 per device effective July 1, 2007. If you have any questions, or would like to speak to an account manager to receive this service, please contact your ITCom service representative (763-2000 or itcom.csr@umich.edu).
